Hahaha, so I've been rather busy this weekend with the AnimeNext convention, spent upwards of $200 on inane shit, ran around like an insane fool, and had a SMASHING GOOD time.
The past three days have been like. . . 8D
IT WOULD HAVE ONLY BEEN BETTER WITH SOME HARDCORE DRUGS, AMIRITE?!
Eh wot.
So since most of my buddies were busy with vacation and actual lives, I just went with my beloved little sister/squirrel ~
ororo-chan. Din't buy much at the Artist Alley, underwhelming for the most part (However, much tears were shed and spears shaken over =
ProdigyBombay and =
akureikarasu's booths, they're full of awesome and such nice peeps to boot ;o; <3)
Cosplay Chess '07 Shonen vs Shoujo
THIS YEAR'S COSPLAY CHESS SUCKED. I mean there was no strategy (hard to follow when you don't know who was what piece but,) and even if they can't play chess to save their life, they should have drawn it out. Major smackdowns with every character, put on a good show at least, right? I wanted to see Seras Victoria take down someone with her HARKONNEN CANNON. At least. Smack those Sailor Girls' miniskirted behinds.
No Battle Royale at the end = ;^;
But the helmet-kids swarming the Shonen King Piece almost made up for it. Almost.
(How the Shoujo side ever won is beyond me. D: )
If you are utterly confused at this point,
have a look at last year's game
The Playstation vs Xbox Match (Ref'd by the resident Jesus) shall stay with me forever. :'D Playstation won. NATURALLY!
Speaking of, Jesus has a taste for Shota-type vampire anime, He oversaw three episodes of MoonPhase and left when Black Cat went on.
JESUS in the convention! Oh my god!
(ha. . . )
I attended a bunch of art panels, got alot of tips, and BRAND NEW ZEST to improve and expand my art. Met alot of aspiring artists, exchanged ideas and dA's, and took ~
myoukin's inking virginity with my micron.
Alot of ideas came from cosplayers, actually. We took a ton of pictures of unwitting cosplayers. . . The Squirrel was the photographer for the most part, but she bullied me into taking some pictures too. . .

Good pose and clothes reference. Hehe. . .
BEST COSPLAY OF THE CON WAS THE TIE-DYED ZORA.
OH And we got a giant 1up mushroom and a yukata and a YAOI paddle on Saturday and played Mushroom Baseball with the Yukata as a uniform only the mushroom was a sucky ball as it was resolute not to travel beyond three feet so we gave up and then watched people playing Volleyball on the lawn outside the Holiday Inn and then the Squirrel stole my mushroom and I ran after her with the Yaoi paddle and RAN RIGHT OUT OF MY SHOES which were new and a bit too big and I picked up one and threw it at her and hopped after her on my other shoe and crutching with the paddle and it was Jolly Good Fun except the grass was WET and I got wet feets and my Yukata was flying and fluttering behind that TREACHEROUS squirrel and when we stopped because we were about to die of hyperventilation she told me she threw my shoe back at me somewhere. And I guess I missed it what with my hopping and flailing. So it's 9:30 in the PM and it's dark and my poor black and white shoe is camoflauged beautifully and somewhere on the lawn gathering dew and we run around AGAIN looking for it (I put a plastic bag over my wet sock but as it had a hole it didn't help) and we don't see it anywhere, and the lawn is pretty damn flat so we'd see it and there's all this sticky flowers and shrubbery and we poke through that, but IT ISN'T THERE and we figure someone with a FOOT FETISH saw my shoe flying around and stole it away into the darkest and dankest corners of the con.
;A; I liked that shoe. It kept my right foot nice and warm and had little guitars on it. Haha. I'll write angsty poetry about it and leave suicide notes saying if only certain FOOT!fetishists had minded their own business I'd still be a happy cabbage with dry feet. Oh well.
As IT WAS THE SQUIRREL'S FAULT I lost my shoe, I guilted her into buying me a CAT EARS HAT. And for the rest of the day I wore it and was in a CatEars!MODE and then I rather forgot it was on and got some strange looks from the Gentle People of the Upper East Side (note: non-otaku types)
So I ended up not drawing anything for this con. Oh well, there's always next year. . . or, perhaps. . . OTACON?!?!?!?!?!
oh, & coming back to dA after three days and seeing 45 messages was a really nice ego boost. =w= thx.
I'll try to clean my inbox tomorrow. . . <33333
